Who writes and reviews
Insights articles are published under the byline of Jerry R. Millington, founder and principal of Brookmont Capital Ventures, who approves every article before it is published. We use AI tools to help research and draft. A person at Brookmont reviews each draft, and no article is published without that review.
What we cite
Market figures (interest rates, spreads, delinquency rates, loan volumes, program limits) come from primary sources wherever one exists: the Federal Reserve and its FRED database, the U.S. Treasury, the U.S. Small Business Administration, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, HUD, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the published research of named firms. Each article lists its sources at the end, and each figure states the period it describes.
Where a figure depends on the transaction, such as a loan-to-value limit, a debt service coverage requirement, or a typical rate range, we present it as a range, say what moves it, and do not present it as a quote. Terms on any real transaction are set by the capital provider after underwriting.
How we check
- Every figure is checked against its source before publication by a reviewer who did not draft the article.
- Arithmetic in worked examples (DSCR, LTV, debt yield, loan sizing) is recalculated.
- Each article shows the date its figures were current and the date its sources were last checked.
Updates and corrections
We recheck the sources behind every article each month and update figures that have changed, recording the new date on the article. If you find an error, email info@brookmontcapital.net with the article and the correction. We review every report and correct confirmed errors promptly.
